Remembered we needed to pick up our rego sticker for the van from Kea out in Milperra. It was an interesting 22km drive through some quite rundown parts of Sydney. With our sticker fastened to the windscreen, we decided during the heat of the day we should take in another movie. Being tight arse Tuesday we found our closest cinemas were in Hurstville. We plotted a course. Couldn’t believe there was nothing but 1hour parking spots around the CBD and the cinemas were on the top floor of a 4 storey shopping centre. We walked around for ages trying to find a 3.3m high parking bay for 3 hours. We amazingly found a 3 hour free (and shady) park only 10 minutes walk from the cinemas. The crowds were horrendous. Kids everywhere and the shopping centre humming with the heat of a million shoppers.

Doyles, since 1885
We returned to the van and the sleepy dog and all the car intact. It’s a strange place. An asian domination to the population. There were some shops with only Chinese writing on the signs. We even found some food in Woolies that was written in Chinese with no English translations at all.

Decided we should head back to Watsons Bay to make sure we got a park for New Years Eve. Arrived just after 8pm to find not one spot. Drove off and double parked elsewhere and ate dinner. Returned at 9pm to still find no spot, so hung around for a few minutes and did find one! Amazing.
